Ford Motor Co. is extending its employee discount pricing to consumers through the July 4 weekend, the Dearborn automaker said Wednesday, after the Trump administration scaled back auto tariffs.
Ford on April 3 — the day 25% tariffs on imported vehicles into the United States took effect — launched its "From America, For America" campaign. It provides discounts of roughly $2,000 to $10,000 on most of its lineup to give consumers clarity at a time of uncertainty and reports that prices would rise from increased costs resulting from tariffs.
Ford will report April sales Thursday. Overall in the industry, a new car sales frenzy brought on by consumers looking to get ahead of tariff-induced price hikes may already be past as some prices creep up, according to automotive digital products firm Cox Automotive Inc. this week.
The Ford campaign excludes Raptors, specialty Mustang and Bronco vehicles, the 2025 Expedition and Navigator SUVs and Super Duty trucks.
The Ford Power Promise that covers the cost of an electric vehicle home Level 2 charging station and its standard installation for new EV buyers also continues through the July 4 weekend.
Ford previously communicated the company could make adjustments to the manufacturer's suggested retail price on May production if there weren't changes to tariffs.
Trump took action on Tuesday to stop 25% duties on vehicles and certain parts from stacking on aluminum and steel tariffs as well as import taxes on Canada and Mexico. He additionally signed a proclamation that allows automakers manufacturing in the United States partially to offset duties on auto parts for the bext two years.
