Auto review: 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum is a passenger moving gem
Published in Business News
When buyers are in the market for a vehicle that can move a lot of stuff, they tend toward options that can handle the capacity while not breaking the bank. The Chevrolet Traverse and even the KIA Telluride come to mind, but a perennial favorite has been the long-lasting Ford Explorer. In Grasso’s Garage this week, we review a beautiful 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum 4WD wrapped in Agate Black Metallic.
With a 119-inch wheelbase and a 2.3-liter Ecoboost I-4 engine producing 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, this seven-passenger SUV is ready for the roads. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Explorer does exactly what it’s designed to do: move people, store things, be comfortable, look good and ride great.
Standard features on our Explorer Platinum include 20-inch wheels, crystal gray leather seats, a 12.3-inch LCD digital cluster and a 13.2-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment. Upgraded equipment on our tester included Luxury Leather package, 10-spoke wheels, and BlueCruise, Ford’s autonomous driving capabilities.
Ford's long-lasting American manufactured vehicles have a great reputation, good ability and utility, while still maintaining a realistic price point. As a Ford Maverick owner myself, I am very familiar with Ford’s interior, and I appreciate how they lay out usage items accordingly.
For the Explorer, it’s business as usual. America’s best selling SUV can carry seven passengers and all of the family’s stuff. Historically, resale values are strong for Ford's utility vehicles, as the Explorer and its fleet of best selling trucks have earned consumer satisfaction accolades for years. The Explorer Platinum is a great overall SUV that does the job, looks good, rides great and fits well in today’s consumer market.
