Hillary Clinton says she'd nominate Trump for Nobel prize if he ends Ukraine war

Hillary Clinton said she would nominate President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize if he can end the war in Ukraine under certain conditions.
“I understand from everything I’ve read he very much would like to receive the Nobel Peace Prize,” the former secretary of state said in an interview on the “Raging Moderates” podcast published on Aug. 15
Clinton then outlined a scenario in which she could see herself tapping Trump — her opponent in the 2016 presidential election — for the prestigious honor.
“Honestly, if he could bring about the end to this terrible war where (Russian President Vladimir) Putin is the aggressor invading a neighbor country, trying to change the borders, if he could end it without putting Ukraine in a position where it had to concede its territory to the aggressor,” she said, “but instead could really stand up to Putin, something we haven’t seen but maybe this is the opportunity, to make it clear that there must be a ceasefire, there will be no exchange of territory, and that over a period of time, Putin should be actually withdrawing from the territory that he has seized.
“If we could pull that off, if President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize,” Clinton said.
However, these terms are likely unacceptable to Putin, who previously proposed a ceasefire deal that required Ukrainian forces to withdraw from four territories Russia had annexed.
Clinton’s comments came ahead of Trump’s historic Aug. 15 diplomatic summit with Putin in Alaska, during which they are discussing terms for ending the war in Ukraine.
