Hunter Biden now 'lives abroad,' according to court documents
Published in News & Features
Hunter Biden is living outside of the U.S., according to a Washington D.C. civil court filing submitted by a law firm that formerly represented the 56-year-old defendant.
That 14-page breach of contract legal document seeks to collect payment from Biden. The filing from Winston & Strawn LLP doesn’t state specifically where the 46th President’s son currently resides. It simply says “Mr. Biden lives abroad.”
That firm represented Biden in a criminal case in Delaware revolving around a gun he owned while battling drug addiction as well as a tax case. Winston & Strawn LLP sued its former client for more than $50,000 in unpaid legal fees in July, according to Law.com.
Biden beat criminal prosecution when his father issued a sweeping 2024 pardon granting his son immunity “including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted.”
Biden, a former lawyer, told YouTuber Andrew Callaghan last week that he’s interested in participating in a cage match with the current President’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. He also said he plans to participate in Callaghan’s “Channel 5” Carnival Tour, which stops in Georgia Saturday before moving on to Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico.
Biden has spend time in South Africa. That’s where his filmmaker wife of nearly seven years was born. He called Cape Town “the most beautiful city in the world” and said he planned to spend more time there in a 2019 podcast, according to People. That publication contacted the attorney handling the Washington D.C. case against Biden. He declined to provide further information regarding his specific whereabouts.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Biden was renting a home in Malibu that was damaged by the California wildfires in January 2025.
He claimed in a December podcast to have been at least $15 million in debt and unable to pay his bills.
