'Heartbreaking': Todd Chrisley's daughter gives update on father at Florida prison
Published in Entertainment News
MIAMI — There’s a major update in the Todd Chrisley prison saga.
The Florida facility where the onetime “Chrisley Knows Best” star is serving time for fraud and tax evasion is in the process of shutting down for good.
His daughter Savannah Chrisley broke the news on in an Instagram video last week, adding more dirt on her father’s supposedly bleak situation.
Savannah Chrisley, 27, relayed that the disgraced businessman was suffering, due to the recent snowfall in the area, and lacked the proper clothing.
“He has on multiple pairs of sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks,” she said. “It’s just to the point that it’s heartbreaking.”
In the Insta caption, the beauty entrepreneur wrote that the embattled Federal Bureau of Prisons, whose director Colette Peters resigned on President Donald Trump’s first day of office, needs a massive overhaul.
While some followers showed support, the majority had no pity.
“Its called prison. It’s not supposed to be paradise.”
“When you break the law you go to PRISON!”
“Sorry little girl, gotta do the time and it’s not supposed to be a country club.”
“Why do think your family is more important than anyone else. If they were free, you wouldn’t care about [criminal justice reform].”
On Tuesday, Savannah Chrisley, whose mother Julie is doing time at Kentucky’s Federal Medical Center, brought more complaints over to her “Unlocked” podcast at around the 38-minute mark.
The biggest concern now is not knowing where her father would land next. The TV patriarch, 55, still has a long stretch ahead of him, due to be released Jan. 22, 2033 (and that’s with a shortened sentence).
The Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola was “deactivated” in December. The Pensacola News Journal cites the reason for FPC’s closing was a “critical staffing shortage, crumbling infrastructure and limited budgetary resources.” The property will be returned to the Navy, which plans to demolish the aging buildings, reports InmateAid.com.
Ironically, Savannah Chrisley said she is going to try to stop the demolition of the prison to do a a “full and thorough inspection” of the facility. She appears to want to gather receipts that her father as well as his fellow inmates had it rough there.
The facility did not immediately return a request for comment as to where Todd Chrisley is headed.
