Maika Monroe is reportedly set to star in 'Reminders of Him'.

According to Deadline, the 'Longlegs' actress, 31, has landed the leading role in the upcoming Universal Pictures adaption of author Colleen Hoover's 2022 romance novel of the same name.

The film - which will be directed by Vanessa Caswill - follows Kenna Rowan, who returns to her hometown after serving five years in prison for a tragic accident hoping to reunite with her daughter - but faces resistance from those determined to keep her away.

As she forms an unexpected connection with Ledger Ward, a local bar owner, their growing bond threatens to upend the fragile trust of those around them, forcing Kenna to confront her past in pursuit of redemption and a second chance.

Hoover is to write the screenplay screenplay for the 'Reminders of Him' movie alongside Lauren Levine, and will also produce the picture under their Heartbones Entertainment banner.

Meanwhile, Gina Matthews will produce through Little Engine Productions and Robin Fisichella is to serve as executive producer.

This will be another instalment into Hoover's growing list of cinematic adaptations, with 'Regretting You' and 'Verity' also in the works.

'Regretting You' - which recently added Scott Eastwood to its cast - will star Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames and Willa Fitzgerald, and will serve as an adaptation of Hoover's 2019 book of the same name.

The novel follows the turbulent relationship between Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter Clara and explores the themes of grief and first love.

The 'Regretting You' movie will be helmed by 'The Fault in Our Stars' director Josh Boone, and is slated to hit cinemas on 24 October 2025.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway is to star in 'Verity', which will be based on Hoover's 2018 novel of the same name.

The story follows writer Lowen Ashleigh, who is given the chance to complete the last three novels in a beloved book series as author Verity Crawford has had to put her pen down due to medical reasons.

After moving into the famed writer's house to go over Verity's notes, Lowen discovers the author has been left largely unresponsive following a car accident, and also learns Verity's two twin daughters had died mere months after her near-fatal incident.

With these revelations swirling around her head, Lowen soon finds herself falling in love with Verity's husband Jeremy, and also stumbles across an autobiographical manuscript penned by the writer, which reveals dark secrets about the life of the author.

Hathaway will be reuniting with her 'The Idea of You' director Michael Showalter for 'Verity', which is aiming for a February 2026 release date.

Hoover's foray into cinema started with last year's 'It Ends With Us', which starred Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

While a sequel book to 'It Ends With Us' - titled 'It Starts With Us' - was written in 2022 by Hoover, any such movie adaptation with Lively and Baldoni may not come to fruition, as the two stars are currently locked in a legal battle against each other.
