Human remains found near Taylor Swift's Rhode Island mansion

NEW YORK — Authorities are investigating what they believe to be human remains found near Taylor Swift’s oceanside mansion in Rhode Island.
The gruesome discovery was made on Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., just a few blocks from the pop star’s Westerly estate, according to Providence NBC affiliate WJAR.
Police called to the scene told the outlet they found a leg bone that appeared to previously belong to a person.
It’s currently unclear how or when the bone got there, or who it belonged to. The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office said it’s currently in the process of trying to confirm the identity of the remains.
The Westerly Police Department Detective Division is investigating the incident, though no foul play is suspected.
“I would definitely disagree with that,” resident Taylor Day told WJAR. “I think finding a leg is very suspicious.”
“It was probably a couple football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House,” she added, referring to the ritzy resort perched on the bluffs of Watch Hill. “I would never expect anything like that — especially not in Watch Hill.”
It’s unknown if Swift was at her 11,000-square-foot home when the bone was discovered.
