MIAMI — William Levy caught a break.

Almost three months after his arrest at Baires Grill in Weston, the telenovela star was accepted into a misdemeanor diversion program.

The 44-year-old Cuban native had been charged with disorderly intoxication, causing a disturbance and trespassing following a dispute over a bill, according to the police report.

Levy later posted $500 bond and was released from the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale. He explained his side of the story to reporters waiting outside — that he had tried to break up a fight between other people at the restaurant, but ended up in handcuffs himself.

As per the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, the misdemeanor diversion program “affords first time offenders an opportunity to immediately accept responsibility for their actions, seek rehabilitation, and divert their cases from the criminal court system.”

This means that upon successful completion of the program, Levy’s case could be scrubbed from his record entirely. It’s unclear what the actor will need to do, but participants usually attend classes, do community service or sometimes undergo treatment, within a designated time frame, as per the State Attorney’s Office.

According to the court records, the ruling was handed down to the TV star, who is listed under his legal name, William Gutierrez, on June 30.
