“Scrubs” will be back in action, as are its three stars, later this year, more than 15 years after the hit medical comedy took its final bow.

A reboot of the NBC-turned-ABC sitcom has gotten a straight-to-series order at the latter, where it will air for the 2025 to 2026 season, Variety reports.

In addition to Zach Braff, whose planned return as J.D. was reported in late May, original stars Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke will also be back. They starred in the original Emmy winner as Turk and Elliot, respectively.

“After years apart, best friends J.D. and Turk reunite at Sacred Heart hospital, where they face modern medical challenges alongside fresh faces while keeping their legendary friendship alive,” reads the logline on the untitled series’ IMDb page.

“Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence also created the reboot, which he will co-executive produce.

“‘Scrubs’ means so very much to me,” Lawrence told Variety. “So excited for the chance to get the band back together.”

Variety reported in December that the new iteration was in early development at Disney-owned ABC.

“Scrubs” debuted in 2001 on NBC, where it aired for seven seasons before moving to ABC for its final two.
