NEW YORK — Comedic actor Rosie O’Donnell said she missed her daughter’s college graduation because she was advised that returning to the U.S. might not be safe.

The “League of Their Own” star moved to Ireland when President Donald Trump took office in January. The gay performer said at the time that she and her autistic, nonbinary child would return “when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America.”

Trump responded by calling O’Donnell “a threat to humanity” and said he was considering stripping her of her U.S. citizenship.

While it’s unrealistic O’Donnell would face banishment from her native country, she said on the “No Filter” podcast she was advised not to come home due to the president’s hostility toward her.

“My daughter graduated college and I didn’t go back because the security people said to me they didn’t think it was wise,” she told podcast host Kate Langbroek on Monday’s show.

O’Donnell has five children including daughter Vivienne, who would be the age of a recent college graduate, according to People. Vivienne was recently enrolled at the University of Delaware.

O’Donnell said she feared the president would use her visit to “rile his base,” which she described as large and confrontational.

“I’m his nemesis in his mind,” she said. “That’s a very difficult place to be.”

The former co-host of “The View” recalled that she first spoke ill of Trump when he was a civilian in 2007 and said the “innately cruel” Queens native has since attacked her verbally on a regular basis.

The problem became worse after Trump became president, according to O’Donnell. That included her being menaced in public places while she was with her youngest child.

“You know, it created a lot of problems,” O’Donnell said.
