Emmys 2025: 'Adolescence,' 'The Studio' and 'The Pitt' are the big winners

ANAHEIM, Calif. — “Adolescence” won the most Emmy Awards on Sunday with six, including best limited or anthology series or movie while “The Studio” cleaned up in the comedy categories with four Emmys, including best comedy and best actor for its star and co-creator, Seth Rogen.
“The Pitt” grabbed three major Emmys — including best drama and best actor for star Noah Wyle — while “Severance,” “Hacks,” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” each grabbed two Emmys.
But the biggest cheers and applause of the night came when “Late Night with Stephen Colbert” won outstanding talk series two months after CBS announced it was canceling the long-running show.
“I kinda wanted to do a late-night comedy show that was about love,” Colbert said after he and many members of his show arrived on stage to chants of “Stephen! Stephen!” “I don’t know if I figured that out, but at a certain point, and you can guess what that point was, it became a late-night comedy show about loss.
“I have never loved my country more desperately,” he continued. “Be strong, be brave, and if the elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy and punch a higher floor.”
The HBO series “The Pitt” won the final two Emmys of the night for outstanding drama and best actor in a drama for Noah Wyle, who plays an emergency room doctor in the series, who won his first Emmy more than 25 years after he was nominated five times for Emmys for his work on “ER.”
After thanking all of the people who worked on “The Pitt,” whose Katherine LaNasa won best supporting actress in a drama, Wyle signed off with a shoutout to the real people working in emergency rooms.
“To everyone who is coming on shift tonight or coming off shift tonight, this is for you,” Wyle said.
“The Studio” set a record for Emmy wins for a first-year show, with Seth Rogen at the center of most of the four major ones shown on the Emmy broadcast from the Peacock Theater on Sunday. Rogen won outstanding comedy series, best actor, and shared the Emmys with his partner Evan Goldberg and others for writing and directing.
“I really appreciate it, in all honesty, I’m doing my best attempt at sincerity,” he said after coming onstage with the show’s full entourage after winning best comedy series. “I’m legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me.”
