Kelly Osbourne surprised her mother Sharon Osbourne with a heartfelt birthday gesture - her first since the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne.

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy, died aged 76 on 22 July from heart failure at his home in Buckinghamshire, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert with his bandmates at Birmingham's Villa Park.

And Kelly, 40, has now shared videos on Instagram showing the surprise decorations she had arranged while her mother slept. She said on her Instagram Stories: "Shhh! So it's my mom's birthday today, and I just decorated her room."

Panning the camera across floating balloons and wrapped gifts before turning the camera towards Sharon, who had just turned 73, Kelly added: "And she's still sleeping."

Music manager Sharon has spoken about the "overwhelming love and support" she has received since her husband's death, saying she had been "carried through" by those around her and was "still finding her footing".

Sharon and Ozzy's son, Jack Osbourne said about her state of mind on Good Morning America: "She's okay, but she's not okay. I know she feels the love."

A new BBC One documentary, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, recently chronicled the rock legend's final years, including his return to Britain after more than three decades in the US.

The series came along with the release of the Paramount+ film Ozzy: No Escape From Now, which includes the couple's eldest daughter, Aimée Osbourne, speaking about her father's final years.

Ozzy had battled multiple health issues, including Parkinson's disease and coronary artery disease, before his death.

His death certificate, published in August and obtained by The New York Times, listed the causes of his passing as "out of hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction".

The family announced his death in a statement saying: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

Black Sabbath's 1969 debut album helped define heavy metal, while their 1970 follow-up, Paranoid, included the classics War Pigs, Iron Man and Fairies Wear Boots - songs that cemented Ozzy's legacy as the self-styled 'Prince of Darkness'.
