Millie Bobby Brown is a "natural-born mother", according to her Stranger Things co-star Cara Buono.

The actress became a first-time mom this year at the age of 21 when she adopted a baby girl with her husband Jake Bongiovi, who she married a year earlier in May 2024, and her co-star Cara had declared Millie was the right age to have a child because she has an "old soul".

Cara told You magazine: "Millie has an old soul and brain. She's a natural-born mother, she's amazing; one of the most 'together' people I know and with an incredible work ethic."

The Sopranos star Cara - who plays Karen Wheeler in Stranger Things - went on to add that she feels "protective" of the young actress and hated seeing her being bombarded with abuse on social media.

She added to the publication: "Millie was a child and no one should ever be treated like that. It's outrageous and disgusting that people don't have anything better to do. I'm protective of Millie - I'm protective of all of them."

Cara - who is mother to a daughter - went on to explain she loved working with the cast of young actors in the hit Netflix show because she had struggled to expand her family with husband Peter Thum after experiencing fertility issues.

She said: "I really, really wanted a big family, but I had a lot of fertility issues and several miscarriages during the show,.

"So I always think the universe gave me Stranger Things to be around all these kids, because it came at this time when I was accepting I wouldn't have more children, and I felt very happy to be their de-facto mum.

"I love hearing all about their lives - their interests, their music, their worries. Now I text them: 'I've seen your play' or whatever. I love seeing them all shine."

Millie recently revealed she chose her Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp to be godfather to her daughter.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "Sadie [Sink] is very, very maternal, but Noah's her godfather."

Noah, 21, went on to reveal it is the "greatest joy" to see his pal enjoying a new stage of her life.

He said: "Aw, it's honestly the greatest joy. It's actually crazy to me to see her grow from such a wide-eyed, innocent, young, silly girl and now she's a mom and married. And I'm just so proud of her."
