Nicholas Hoult wants Western movie role

Nicholas Hoult wants to star in a Western movie.
The About A Boy star was recently directed by iconic actor Clint Eastwood in legal thriller film Juror No.2, and during that time Hoult watched some of the legend's Western movies, including 1992's Unforgiven.
After revisiting some of Clint's classics - which include The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and A Fistful of Dollars - Hoult has a desire to star in his own Western movie.
According to Variety, Nicholas told the audience at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday (08.12.25): "Working with Clint, I went back and watched all of his classic movies.
"One of my all-time favourite movies is Unforgiven. I think it's a masterpiece. So I really at some point want to do a Western."
Hoult is also keen to appear in a racing movie soon.
He loves the "intense focus" of driving a high-speed race car, and is keen to transfer his driving skills onto the big screen.
He added: "I find [racing] very similar to acting, in some ways.
"It's like an intense focus, but also this kind of flow state where it's input, output.
"You're just focusing on, like, what you need to look at, what's happening, and then what you need to do too, and so they're very similar in many ways. Like acting, you're looking at the other person, seeing whatever it is, observing, and then hopefully the output comes naturally."
Hoult portrayed Lex Luthor in this year's Superman movie, after losing out on the titular role to David Corenswet because he "didn't fit the role".
Speaking in a new interview for Jake's Takes, Superman director James Gunn recently explained: "A lot of time casting is finding the right person for the right role. Most people [auditioning for Superman] weren't doing anything wrong, they just didn't fit how I envisioned this Superman to be. Nicholas Hoult auditioned. He's a great actor. Some might say he's better than David in certain ways, but he just didn't fit the role. That's why he didn't get that.
"As much as you can transform yourself as a person, Nicholas is just more controlled. One of the things we were doing was mixing and matching Lois and Clark actors when we were auditioning them.
"I wanted to make sure we had that chemistry right. The truth is Nicholas, who is a more controlled actor, had a really good chemistry with another Lois who was less controlled. They were opposites. David had better chemistry with Rachel [Brosnahan] because she's a very controlled actor and Davis is a little bit more loose. That creates a different dynamism on screen."
