David Del Rio’s “Matlock” character will have a “very organic” send-off after he was fired from the CBS hit amid sexual assault allegations.

Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed to Deadline that Del Rio’s Billy Martinez appearance in the Dec. 4 episode of the legal series — for which titular star Kathy Bates scored a historic Emmy nomination — was his last.

“I’m not going to discuss details, but what I can talk about is in terms of the show,” said Snyder Urman, who also executive produces. “The last episode you see him is in [season 2, episode] 7, and then you find out how Billy’s story ends, which is in a very organic way that has to do with our whole office and how things are being shaped in this merger.”

Leah Lewis, who costars as Sarah Franklin, accused 38-year-old Del Rio of sexually assaulting her on Sept. 26, amid filming the sophomore season. News broke in October that an investigation had been launched, leading to Del Rio’s firing and removal from the Paramount set, as well as the decision to write off his character.

Del Rio has denied the allegations. Though he has publicly remained mum, his wife Katherine slammed 28-year-old Lewis in a since-deleted post as “the most disturbing human being I have ever met.”

Lewis, at the time, said on Instagram that she and her family were “moving forward in love and strength” and she was “in good hands.”

Snyder Urman’s confirmation about the end of Billy’s arc comes amid reports this week that CBS reopened its probe into Del Rio around Thanksgiving at the request of the actor and his new lawyer.
