FORT WORTH, Texas — Roseanne Barr is returning to television and will film her new show in Texas.

“Meemaw” is Barr’s first time leading a series since her namesake show — “Roseanne” — was canceled after she made racist comments about one of President Barack Obama’s former staffers.

More than 20 years after its ninth season, “Roseanne” returned for a nine-episode 10th season in March 2018. The show ran its course and then was canceled that May after Barr’s comments. The show would return without Barr under the new title of “The Conners,” which ended earlier this year after seven seasons.

Not much is known about “Meemaw,” beyond that Barr will lead the show and that it will film in Austin from December 2025 to February 2026.

Earlier this year, Variety reported that Barr was making a show centering around a small-town Alabama farmer who is “saving the United States from drug gangs and China.” It’s unclear if this show and “Meemaw” are connected.

Ahead of camera’s rolling next week, Texas-based agency Legacy Casting is looking for background actors to appear in the show. Here’s what to know.

‘Meemaw’ casting in Texas

Legacy is looking for a stand-in/photo double for Barr.

The person will need to match Barr’s measurements, which can be found here. The pay rate is $200 for 12 hours of work each day.

A man or woman is needed to play an assistant to a tailor for filming on Dec. 18. The pay rate is $80 for 8 hours of work.

Legacy is looking for someone to portray a seamstress for filming on Jan. 5. The pay rate is $80 for 8 hours of work.

Multiple women are needed to play prayer circle women on Jan. 6. This will be a semi-recurring role that films in January and February.

A Native American man is needed to portray the husband to a character named Blossom. This will be a recurring non-speaking role that pays $195 for 12 hours of work.

And if you don’t want to be in this show, Legacy is also looking for more extras for “Yellowstone” spinoffs and “Lioness,” which are filming in Fort Worth. Find those casting calls here.
