BALTIMORE — Baltimore, get ready for your close-up.

The Charm City-born comic Stavros Halkias announced Wednesday that he will film his “Dreamboat” tour in Baltimore in April.

“April 25 I’m taping my third special in the greatest city in America,” Halkias posted on his Instagram account.

Halkias had already teased the announcement Tuesday in another Instagram video.

”Many of you have been very mad that there’s no Baltimore stop on the Dreamboat tour,” he says. “Well, tomorrow you’re going to want to keep your eyes peeled for a special announcement for some very special shows that will be taking place in the Spring in Baltimore.”

In the video, Halkias leans toward the camera and gives extra emphasis to the word “special.”

Halkias is scheduled to perform three shows at The Lyric: at 7 p.m. April 24, and at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 25. A third show was added just 24 hours after tickets went on sale due to “increased demand,” according to the Lyric Baltimore.

This is the second time in less than a year that a Baltimore-born comic who doesn’t fit the standard definition of a movie star is making an effort to position his hometown in the spotlights.

“The Baltimorons,” which was co-written by and starred Baltimore’s Michael Strassner, debuted in local theaters in September and ran nearly continuously for four months before finally departing in mid-January.

But Halkias’ hold on Baltimoreans’ hearts has been of even longer standing.

He began accruing a significant social media presence in 2022, when he began posting videos of himself in the character of a shirtless, Balwmerese-speaking Ravens superfan, “Ronnie.”

The character still makes occasional appearances on Halkias’ “Stavvy’s World” podcast.

Halkias released his first comedy special, “Live at the Lodge Channel” on YouTube in 2022, while Netflix picked up his second special, “Fat Rascal,” one year later.

It couldn’t be learned immediately where “Dreamboat” will broadcast; Halkias’ announcement doesn’t say, and a spokesperson for Netflix did not immediately return a request for comment.

Halkios appeared in the 2025 film “Bugonia,” which has picked up four Academy Award nominations, including a best picture nod. He stars in the Netflix comedy series “Tires,” which has been renewed for its third season.

The comic, who splits his time between Baltimore and Queens, New York, also made headlines last year for videos supporting Zohran Mandami’s successful New York mayoral campaign.

Tickets to the Baltimore shows available at stavvy.biz with presale code DREAM. Prices range from $44.15 to $257.05, including fees.
