Paul Simon announces 2026 'A Quiet Celebration Tour'
Published in Entertainment News
SAN DIEGO — Paul Simon isn’t ready to go slip slidin’ away just yet.
Seven years after he retired from touring in 2018 — and a year after he un-retired in 2025 to launch his “A Quiet Celebration Tour” — the legendary singer-songwriter will hit the road again with a summer jaunt across North America.
Accompanied by an 11-piece band that includes his wife, Edie Brickell, Simon will open his tour with a June 4 performance at Stanford University’s Frost Amphitheater in Palo Alto. It will be followed by a June 7 date at the Hollywood Bowl — where he first appeared in 1967 with Simon & Garfunkel — and a June 9 concert in San Diego at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
These will be followed by 17 more concerts, concluding with two open-air concerts at Ravinia in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park. Tickets for all of the tour dates go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
Simon announced his retirement from touring in 2018, in large part because of major hearing issues that made it painful for him to perform in concert with amplified sound. Accordingly, the volume on his 2025 “A Quiet Celebration Tour” was kept low.
Last year’s tour followed the release of Simon’s whisper-soft 2023 album, “Seven Psalms,” whose songs found him addressing mortality and spirituality in song. He was 81 at the time.
When Simon came out of retirement last year, he performed each concert on his 2025 tour in two segments. The first half was devoted to the 33-minute seven-song cycle on his “Seven Psalms” album, two of which feature accompanying vocals by his wife, Brickell. The second half focuses on his greatest hits and such deep cuts as “The Late Great Johnny Ace” and “Rene and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After the War.”
Simon’s upcoming tour will follow the same two-part concert format. His North American summer trek will follow his 23-date tour of Europe in April and May.
Tickets for Simon’s June 9 concert are priced from $71.50 to $251.50 each. Tickets go on sale to the general public for all his North American concerts at 10 a.m. Friday at paulsimon.com and ticketmaster.com.
A presale will take place on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The password for the presale is: SIMON25.
