FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Officers were called to the luxury apartment of Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this week after an argument between him and his wife, according to a police report.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, officers met with Hill; his wife, Keeta; and her mother in their 35th-floor apartment in Sunny Isles Beach “in reference to an assault in progress,” according to an incident report.

Keeta Hill’s mother called police after she saw Hill during an argument “throwing her daughter’s computer to the floor,” then grabbing his infant daughter and walking toward the balcony of the apartment, the report said.

Hill’s mother-in-law has been living with the couple since their daughter was born in November. She told officers Hill and her daughter argued often, according to the report, describing Hill as “very aggressive and impulsive” and expressed concern for her daughter’s safety.

Keeta Hill told officers that they had been arguing more often and that she is in the process of filing for divorce, the report said. She said Hill grabbed their daughter “without malice.”

“She said that whenever she gives him her opinion about anything they discuss, he becomes angry and agitated and throws objects around,” the incident report said. “She stated that they had been going to couples therapy, but it was not working out.”

Keeta Hill filed a divorce petition in Miami-Dade County court Tuesday, court records show, a day after the police call.

Hill himself filed a divorce petition in Broward County court early last year, then in a post on X claimed that he hadn’t. He later said on a video game streaming session that the petition was mistakenly filed and that “a lot of people got fired” for it. He dismissed the petition eight days after it was filed. Not long before that, the Hillses’ home in Southwest Ranches caught fire by a child playing with a lighter.

Hill told officers on Monday that he was talking with his wife after he got back from training and “did not like that she told him he was not involved enough with their daughter,” so he grabbed the baby, according to the report.

“In his own words, he stated, ‘I have the same rights as a father as her as a mother, and I can take my baby whenever I want,' ” the incident report said.

The Hills both told officers the argument did not escalate physically. Officers questioned Keeta Hill about a “light redness mark (Bruise)” on her upper chest.

“She replied that it probably had happened without malice when he grabbed the baby from her,” the report said.

She declined to give officers a written statement, and Hill left while the officers were still there.

“On Monday, we were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed,” a Dolphins spokesperson said in an email. “We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”

Hill’s agent did not respond to an email seeking comment Wednesday afternoon.

Hill’s most recent season with the Dolphins began with controversy, when he was forcefully detained outside of Hard Rock Stadium by Miami-Dade Police while on his way to the opening game. The traffic stop sparked national headlines with the release of body-worn camera footage.

Since the season’s end, there’s been drama and question about whether Hill would be traded. Last week, head coach Mike McDaniel said the Dolphins aren’t planning that.
