Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Zach Sieler always felt the team would come through for him, and they did.

The Dolphins and Sieler agreed on a three-year contract extension worth up to $67.75 million and with $44 million in guarantees Sunday evening, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Sieler last was at the negotiating table with the Dolphins ahead of the 2023 season, and it got him his previous deal, at $10.25 million in average annual value.

That figure ranked 29th among defensive tackles in the NFL as he outplayed the contract.

Sieler had 10-sack seasons in both 2023 and 2024, making him the league’s only interior defensive lineman to hit double digits in each season.

The new extension locks in Sieler, who turns 30 Sept. 7, through 2029.

Sieler was never holding in or opting out of team drills during training camp as he pursued the extension. He was the consummate practice player and remained confident the deal would soon be struck.

“I do feel that respect coming, and I feel like I’ve earned it,” Sieler said earlier in training camp. “I know I’ve earned it.”

Sieler, like safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, is represented by Rosenhaus. Fitzpatrick also got his contract extension earlier in camp after he was traded back to the Dolphins by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rosenhaus also represents tight end Jonnu Smith, who received a new deal in Pittsburgh through that trade.

Sieler, although he is yet to be named to a Pro Bowl, has made a remarkable run to his current status in the NFL. He was a former Division II football player at Ferris State in Michigan before getting drafted in the seventh round and being cut twice before the Dolphins claimed him off waivers in 2019 from the Baltimore Ravens.

He developed alongside 2019 first-round pick Christian Wilkins on the Dolphins’ defensive line. Always stout in playing the run, Sieler then added the interior pass rush to his game over the past two seasons.

Wilkins then fled to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency in 2024 and was released last week. Sieler was paired with veteran future Hall of Fame defensive lineman Calais Campbell last season.

Now, Sieler is joined by Miami’s 2025 first-round draft choice, Michigan’s Kenneth Grant, on the defensive line as Miami’s front seven appears to be a strength this season.
