President Trump said Monday that he was stripping former President Joe Biden’s children of their Secret Service protection.

“Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection,” Trump posted on his Truth Social media site. “Likewise, Ashley Biden who has 13 agents will be taken off the list.”

According to Trump, Hunter Biden had as many as 18 agents on his security detail “for an extended period of time.”

The President also raged that Biden’s 55-year-old son was vacationing in South Africa. The Trump administration is currently at odds with that country, whose ambassador to the U.S. was ordered to leave the country last week.

Trump and his acolytes have expressed anger at the South African government, which has taken issue with the nation’s white minority constituting roughly 7% of the population while owning more than 70% of the land. The President considers the expropriation of land from white people to be racist.

Stripping security details from people he sees to be political enemies has been a Trump tactic since he returned to power in 2024 after voters removed him from office in 2020 in favor of Joe Biden.

Shorty after his January inauguration, the President revoked Secret Service protection for his former National Security Adviser John Bolton, who claimed his former boss wasn’t fit to serve as president after he left the administration.

Trump also stripped former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley of their security detail, despite the potential dangers posed to high-ranking U.S. officials who may have angered foreign or domestic adversaries.
