NEW YORK — Fashion designer Jenna Lyons is leaving “The Real Housewives of New York City” after just two seasons on the rebooted Bravo hit.

The former J. Crew creative director, 57, confirmed Friday on Instagram that “the rumors are true” and she’s “made the difficult decision not [to] return to the show.”

Lyons said she was initially “grateful” to pivot into the “friend of” role for the upcoming 16th season, but ultimately realized it “made sense” for her to leave, knowing her “personal life [is] not really available to be filmed.”

Part of her decision, she explained, was also the fact that she’d be “the oldest and only openly gay woman on the show,” saying she feels the time is right “for a new dynamic to emerge.”

Lyons emphasized there’s no bad blood between herself and Bravo, nor castmates Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan or Racquel Chevremont.

“I LOVE THE GIRLS,” Lyons wrote, tagging their Instagram handles though leaving out Brynn Whitfield. “I have so much respect and gratitude to the Entire BRAVO team who produced the show with grace and care.”

Lyons gave executive producer Andy Cohen a special shoutout “for the opportunity and support.”

“And most importantly to all the fans who have said hi on the street, asked for a photo, supported me here on Instagram, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! — it’s so incredibly meaningful,” she concluded. “I will be watching and b–ing from the sidelines with love and outfit judgement.”

Lyons, Lichy, Taank, De Silva, Hassan and Whitfield — the latter of whom confirmed her own departure from the show in June — came on board the Gotham reality staple in 2023. Their inaugural season was the first without any of the series’ original cast members, following a widely panned 13th season in 2021.
