'THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS'

Rated PG-13 for action/violence and some language.

What it’s about: A quartet of superpowered scientists try to save the world on the retro 1960s Earth-828 planet.

The kid attractor factor: The comic book origins, superheroes and spectacle.

Good lessons/bad lessons: We can only save the world — and each other — when we work together.

Violence: Some destruction and comic book violence and peril but nothing gory.

Language: Some strong language.

Sex: Some flirty references, but overall, not much.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Fine for older kids who can handle comic book/superhero action.

'OH, HI!'

Rated R for sexual content/some nudity, and language.

What it’s about: A romantic weekend goes awry when a young woman discovers that her boyfriend thinks it's just a casual situationship. She leaves him chained to a bed in order to work through their issues together.

The kid attractor factor: This is an adult dating dramedy, not really for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Honesty, communication and vulnerability can help to escape some tricky situations.

Violence: References to kidnapping and murder, a car wreck, an elbow to the face, etc.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: A couple of frank sex scenes and some nudity.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Too mature for kids but OK for teens.
