Tennis star Danielle Collins adopts wounded dog she rescued at Miami Open

Even though tennis star Danielle Collins was defeated by Belarusian top seed Aryna Sabalenka in the round of 16 at the Miami Open, she’s feeling like a Grand Slam winner after rescuing a wounded dog.
Earlier this week, Collins adopted a pup that she and her entourage came across while leaving the Hard Rock Stadium.
The dog, resembling a German Shepherd breed, was found laying in the middle of the road after being hit by a car. Collins says took him to a nearby veterinary hospital, where he was in critical condition and on oxygen support for days.
Following his release from the hospital, Collins took to Instagram to share the happy news that she’d officially adopted the dog and given him a new pun-intended name.
“Crash is recovering and finally out of the hospital,” wrote the four-time WTA champ. “His breathing is back to normal, his wounds are healing and he’s definitely enjoying all the love he’s receiving. He’s curious, affectionate and grateful for a second chance at life.”
The 31-year-old said she’s thankful for being there to get Crash the care he needed, and couldn’t be happier to give her labradoodle, Quincy, a brother.
Ever the doting dog mom, Collins frequently travels with Quincy (a.k.a. Mr. Q), who was seen sitting courtside during her Miami matches.
